Oak Ridges: high ground, old trees, room to settle.

McCachen Street sits in Oak Ridges, on the high ground of the Oak Ridges Moraine, one of Richmond Hill’s most established residential pockets. Mature trees, quiet streets, and Lake Wilcox and its trails a few minutes away. The kind of place people move to and stay in.

Schools

One of York Region’s most school-dense pockets. The closest public elementary, Kettle Lakes P.S. on Kingshill Road, is rated 7.6 / 10 · top 17%, with nearby Bond Lake P.S. among the area’s strongest at 8.6 / 10. Catholic and French-language options sit close by, and Cardinal Carter C.H.S. on Bloomington Road is an IB World School 7.6 / 10. French Immersion, IB, Gifted and AP all available locally.

Getting around

York Region Transit and Viva Blue run the length of Yonge Street, about a 3-minute drive east. Bloomington GO on the Richmond Hill line is roughly 10 minutes by car for the downtown commute, and Highway 404 about 15. Yonge, Bathurst and King Road connect the rest of the GTA.

Everyday life

Green space is the constant. Woodside Parkette sits at the edge of the neighbourhood, one of 20-plus parks and Moraine trails, with Lake Wilcox minutes east for waterfront walks. The Oak Ridges Community Centre (six-lane pool, gym, fitness studio) is about 8 minutes away, and Food Basics, No Frills and Farm Boy cluster on Yonge, a 3-minute drive.
